A discussion about upcoming programs to be implemented this year under the Dolosmahe Pahana program series of the district culture department was held yesterday (22) afternoon by the district cultural authority boards and the district poetry society sub-committees under the chairmanship of the district president/district secretary Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe.

Religious and archaeological sites, District Cultural Boards and Regional Cultural Boards, Cultural Centers, Art Institutes, School Children's Clubs with the main objective of creating physical, mental and spiritual development of the people under the Cultural Participation Development Program in conjunction with the National Program "New Village - New Country" , many programs to be done through existing sub-committees targeting drama, dance, music, writing and other art events by bringing together rural societies and voluntary groups were discussed here.

In this meeting, many suggestions were also highlighted about popularizing Virindu art, actively getting the contribution of artists in the cultural features of the district, directing school children and the youth community to theater arts, and the need to provide religious education.

Chief Patron of Kegalle District Poetry Society Lord Walpola Ratanajothi, Additional District Secretary (Administration) Dinisha S. Rathnayake, District Culture Officer Padmini Wickramalata, District Culture Board Secretary Sunil Gamlath, District Culture Department officials, artists and others were present on this occasion.
