The Dangerous Drugs Control Board, the Kegalle District Secretariat and the Police Superintendent's Office jointly organized a series of programs covering the Kegalle districts yesterday (26) in conjunction with this year's International Anti-Drug Day under the theme "Let's be strong for prevention regardless of people's differences".

In order to educate the public about drug prevention, public officers were informed yesterday morning at the Kegalle Post Auditorium, after which stickers and information leaflets against drug trafficking were distributed in all shops and vehicles throughout the city.

The street drama groups of Kegalle and Warakapola Divisional Secretariats had also worked to educate the children of schools in Kegalle city and the target schools were Ranwala Mahanama Vidyalaya, Saint Mary's Vidyalaya, Royal Vidyalaya, Swarna Jayanthi Vidyalaya, Kegalle Muslim Vidyalaya, Kegalle Girls' Vidyalaya and Molagoda Jayapala Vidyalaya. At the same time, the students and parents were informed about drug prevention.

This series of programs was organized by S.C. Thotawatta, Kegalle District External Service Assistant of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board.

On this occasion, District Secretary/ District Governor Ranjan Jayasinghe, Kegalle Divisional Secretary Mr. K.G.S.Nishantha, police officers, government officials and others were present.
