The District Coordination Committee met today (30) under the leadership of the new Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, District Coordination Committee Co-Chairman Mr. Navin Dissanayake and Member of Parliament Mrs. Rajika Wickramasinghe.

In the investigation of dengue risk in the district, no dengue deaths have occurred in the last 6 months and no dengue epidemic situation has yet occurred, but the need to keep all premises clean was pointed out as the risk of dengue continues. It was also stated that there is an imminent risk of rat fever spreading among school children. In addition to agriculture, Samurdhi, the programs implemented by the provincial council, the matters related to the development programs of the district were also discussed.

Along with this committee, the pre-disaster risk situation was also examined. In order to face the upcoming southwest monsoon situation, the regional monsoon preparedness program will inform the village officials, identify and map the dangerous schools in the district, existing problems in the safe centers, remove the dangerous trees and branches that are currently requested to be removed, operations The current preparations regarding many matters including the preparation of boats were presented here.
