In conjunction with Kala Vibhashi District Literature Festival, the "Ranga Pratibha" short drama festival was held at the Kegalu College Auditorium under the chairmanship of Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe, District Secretary, centering on regional cultural bodies.

These dramas were presented for the competition through cultural committees representing ten Divisional secretaries of Kegalle district.

The judges of the "Ranga Pratibha" short drama competition were Ms. Leena Seneviratne, Professor of Fine Arts Studies Department of Peradeniya University, Ms. Gayathmi Bandara, Kandy Education Region's Drama and Performing Arts Teacher Instructor and Kandy D.S. Senanayake Vidyalaya's drama and theater teacher advisor Thisara Alwis was conducted by an impartial judging panel.

Accordingly, the short play "Ae Heenaya Mge" represented by the Kegalle Cultural Board won the first place, the short play "Aye Enna Kusumsiri" represented by the Rambukkana Cultural Board won the second place, and the short play "Meyo Awith" represented by the Yatianthota Cultural Board won the third place. 

Awards and certificates are going to be given to the theater groups who have won in the Kala Vibhashi District Literature Festival, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Costume Design, Best Dramatic Design, Best Script and Merit Certificates.

The "Ranga Pratibha" short drama festival was jointly organized by the District Culture Department and the District Culture Board.

District Cultural Officer Mrs. Kanchana Wijeratne and other officials of the editorial department, Secretary of the District Cultural Power Board and Mr. Sunil Kumara Gamlath and other members of the Board of Directors and others came together for this occasion.
