Today (28) awards and certificates were awarded to the artisans engaged in the textile industry in Sabaragamuwa Province who won the handloom textile competition "Weaman Dethata Abhiman - 2023" held in conjunction with the Handloom Textile Industry Exhibition and Tournament held annually by the Textile Industry Department was held in the morning at Kegalle Post Auditorium.

Under 21 competition events, artisans engaged in the textile industry covering Kegalle and Ratnapura districts, the organizations that made the most production and the most sales were also evaluated. The winners at the provincial level as well as the winners at the national level were presented with certificates along with financial prizes.

This program was organized by the officials of Sabaragamu Provincial Industry Development Department led by the Provincial Director Mrs. Narmada Egogedara.

On that occasion, Kegalle District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary (Administration) K.G.S. Nishantha, District Samurdhi Director T.A.P. Kusumsiri, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshani, Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Manori Gunawardena, Assistant Divisional Secretary Kegalle, Assistant Director of National Craft Council (Sabaragamuwa Province), Deputy Directors of Kegalle Regional Education Office, Coordinating Secretaries of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor, Assistant Director of Rubber Development Department, government officials and entrepreneurs engaged in the meat industry were present.
