A discussion on the programs to be conducted quarterly by the District and Divisional Cultural Power Boards as well as the upcoming programs of the new year was held recently (26) at the District Secretariat Auditorium.

First of all, additional district secretary Mr. K. G. S. Nishantha explained the objectives and after welcoming the people present, the report of the previous assembly was presented by secretary Mr. Sunil Gamlath to the assembly.

Accordingly, the programs that could be implemented by the Divisional power boards were suggested by the respective regional district power board representatives. There, it was proposed to organize small-scale art programs by local power boards with the participation of the artists of the district and to take them to the domains, and among them were art elements such as short drama programs and paduru sajjaya

It was also suggested to organize such programs in the unity of some of the nearest regional power boards as it costs a lot of money to organize art programs centered on Kegalle district. It was also proposed to sell a ticket to solve the financial problems and to organize the Sinhala New Year festival earlier in the year with the participation of artists.

In addition to this, to go to the divisions and organize old song singing programs targeting the children and people of those divisions, which can give a good message to the society, bring the plans at the local level to the district level and discuss at the local level and inform the district about how they can be implemented was discussed hear.

This program was organized by the division including the District Cultural Officer Mrs. Kanchana Wijeratne.
