The Kegalle District "Garu Saru" and SMART Youth Club introduction program was successfully concluded on the last 23rd and 24th days at the Kegalle Independence Avenue under the leadership of the Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara.

The primary objective of the Garusara program is to provide dignity of service to the workers engaged in the informal sector in Sri Lanka, develop their skills, ensure the social security of workers, protect the quality of services, promote occupational safety and health.

The purpose of implementing the SMART youth club program throughout the island is to prepare a youth community that will effectively engage in economic activities with qualities such as ethics, creative thinking skills, ability to adapt and resilience to the social environment of Sri Lanka.

Government institutions, industries, educational institutions as well as the workforce of the informal sector came together to provide necessary advice and guidance to the youth community that participated in this program and to share experiences.

This program was successfully organized under the full supervision of the Kegalle District Secretary on the provisions of the Ministry of Foreign Services and Labor and the Foreign Employment Bureau, the Foreign Employment Division and the Employment Promotion Division together with the support of the officers of the Divisional Secretariats.

For these occasions, Kegalle District Political Authority, Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment Secretary R. P. A. Wimalaweera and other department officials, Kegalle District Secretary Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe and other additional secretaries, heads of all institutions in the district, divisional secretaries and officers, foreign service bureau officers, a group of youth groups who participated as representatives of all Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Kegalle District participated.
