The Kegalle District Disabled People's National Apprenticeship Indoor Sports Tournament organized for the sixth time by the Department of Social Services and the District Secretariat was held yesterday (19) throughout the day at the Kegalle Public Stadium.

Around one hundred and seventy people with disabilities from all over the district participated in this tournament, which included forty one events and the officials of the district sports department were present for judging the matches.

Laika Gnanam Foundation, Sri Lata Jewellers, Organization for Peace and Compassion, Athukorala Group provided financial support for this tournament.

District Social Services Officer Mr. Sarath Ranawira, social service department members and the social services officers of the divisional secretariats organized this tournament together.

District Secretary/District Governor Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary (Administration) K.G.S. Nishantha, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha, Staff Officers, Additional Director of Social Services Department S.H. Paranavithana, Sabaragamu Provincial Senior Social Service Officer Indumala, Headquarter Social Service Officer S.A. Jayantha, Laika Gnanam Foundation District Coordinator Wasantha Priyadarshini, Kegalle hospital Health Staff, District Secretariat officials, athletes with disabilities, their parents and guardians were present.
