In the morning of today (20), an awareness of the officers related to the innovation program implemented with the aim of empowering rural entrepreneurs across the island under the leadership of the State Ministry of Technology and the presentation of certificates to the officers who have successfully completed the training program for agricultural officers as GMP inspectors. Under the chairmanship of the Minister of State for Technology Mr. Kanaka Herath took place in the auditorium of the District Secretariat.

The Ministry of Technology is running a program to empower rural entrepreneurs all over the island and its pilot project will be implemented in Aranaike and Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Kegalle District. In order to popularize this program throughout the entire district, all the officials of the institutions involved in encouraging entrepreneurs were informed in this program.

Accordingly, the credit facilities available for the entrepreneurs, the awareness for obtaining trade facilities through the internet as well as the introduction of Freelancing, the establishment of new enterprise societies by the Cooperative Development Department as well as the technical counseling and awareness on entrepreneurship development were carried out by the respective institutions.

Senaratne, Deputy Director General Samanthi Narangoda, National Engineering Research and Development Center Director Kamal Mideniya, Senior Research Engineer Dr. Nilanti Fernando, National Enterprise Development Authority Assistant Director Nalin Chinthaka, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology officials Bulathkohupitiya and Aranayake Divisional Secretaries, bank officials and officials of respective institutions and departments related to entrepreneurship were present.
