It is the need of the age to increase the life skills and personality development of women through psychological programs to reduce the problematic situations caused by various mental problems faced by women in today's society, interpersonal relationship problems, addiction to electronic screens, suicide, and various addictions.
An awareness program organized jointly by the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment and the District Counseling Unit was held today (18) in the morning at the District Secretariat Auditorium.
Psychiatry officer Mrs. Suranjanika Gunathilaka informed about women's empowerment, correct use of technology and the problems caused by addictions in this program, which was attended by the members holding the positions of president, secretary and treasurer of the women's power boards of the district. Also, the importance of theater therapy to reduce mental pressure was informed by Counseling Officer Mrs. Madhu Sendanayake and Counseling Officer Mrs. Gayani Harschandra about the mental problems faced by women.
This program was organized by the department including the District Counseling Officer M.B.M. Iqbal.
District Secretary/Diplomat Ranjana Jayasinghe, Vanitha Development Officer Mrs. Manori Dehimaduwa as well as the advisory officers of the Divisional Secretariats and members of the Women's Power Boards attended this event.
