A mobile laboratory service was held yesterday (20) at the Kegalle Aquaculture Extension Office and the Ruwanwella District Secretariat to identify the problems related to ornamental fish farming in Kegalle District.

Diseases of fish in fancy fish farms are diagnosed at the same time and necessary facilities were provided to get the necessary medicines at concessional prices on the spot.

This provided an opportunity to measure the PH value and Hardness value of the water used by the aquaculture farmers and thereby identify the most suitable type of fish for the farm.

The program was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Niroshan Walpita by Sabaragamuwa University Mobile Laboratory.

This program was organized by the District Aquatic Officer Mr. Chandana Jagath Kumar.

Kegalle District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, District Agriculture Director MS Thilakasiri, aquaculture farmers and others attended this event.
