In order to promote vocational training, the Department of Manpower and Employment is implementing awareness programs targeting school students across the island under six main programs. Under these programs, "Jeevithata Hari Aiyaram" for GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level students, awareness programs for Grade 9 students regarding the selection of subjects for Grade 10, "Varietya Manpet" program regarding the selection of vocational training opportunities for students who have appeared for the GCE Advanced Level examination, and awareness programs for parents and teachers are being held.

Under this, the training institutions in the district, such as the National Apprenticeship and Technical Training Authority, Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority, Batangala University Institute, Kegalle Institute of Advanced Technology, Kegalle Technical College, Kegalle Department of Small Industries, and Kegalle Youth Corps, joined hands to provide relevant awareness by providing resources for the program held today.

This awareness session for teachers in charge of the counseling subject in the Kegalle Education Division was organized by the District Coordinating Officer of the District Employment Promotion Division, Mr. Ranjith Facuwala, and the Division.

Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha and a group of government officials were present at the event.
