An awareness program for migrant families was held today (29) under the patronage of District Secretary/Government Agent Ranjana Jayasinghe to identify the problems of migrant families and promote their productivity.

Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha and Productivity Officer of the National Productivity Secretariat Sitani Abeywardena explained the need to identify the problems of migrant families and empower them through the concept of productivity.

Awareness was provided on the problems faced by migrant worker families and the solutions that can be obtained through the intervention of the Foreign Employment Bureau and on the Sri Lanka Migrant Policy with the resources of Foreign Employment Development Officer of the Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat R.P.P. Mahanama.

Mr. Geeth Rajapaksa, Senior Productivity Development Officer of the National Productivity Secretariat, introduced the concept of productivity to migrant rural families and made them aware of the empowerment of family units.

This program was organized by the District Productivity Division and was attended by representatives of migrant families abroad, productivity development officers of the Divisional Secretariats, and foreign employment officers of the District Secretariat.
