The District Elder Promotion Division, with the funds of the National Elders Secretariat, organized a pre-retirement awareness program at the District Secretariat Auditorium today (02).

Former Senior Social Service Officer Padmasiri Gamlath spoke on the theme of preparing for retirement - a successful adult life and living a healthy retirement.

Former Administrative Grama Niladhari of Kegalle R.A.W.K. Jayasena participated in this event to share his experiences in retirement.

Health Education Officer S.P. Upali Ranasinghe informed the group about the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being during retirement.

As the final feature of this awareness program, Pension Officer Nihal Piyasiri explained the facts regarding the personal file related to receiving pensions.

The awareness campaign was organized by the District Elder Promotion Officer, Mrs. Dilani Kumari and the division. Additional District Secretary for Administration, Mr. K.G.S. Nishantha and a group of government officials who are about to retire were present at the event.
