A coordination meeting was held recently at the District Secretariat to review the progress of NGOs in the first, second and third quarters of 2024 and the proposed plans for 2025.

Scholarships, financial assistance to low-income families, community outreach, livelihood development, implementation of mentoring programs for the estate community, community awareness to prevent domestic violence, home gardening related to local potato cultivation, peace and reconciliation-themed activities, nutrition programs, and various community health programs are to be supported by NGOs.

About ten NGOs implementing various projects and programs throughout the Kegalle district joined this event.

This program was organized by the NGO Coordinator Nishantha Premathilaka on the instructions of the Kegalle District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe. Additional District Secretary (Administration) K.G. S. Nishantha, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha, field officers of the District Secretariat and a group of others were present on this occasion.
