An Ayurveda exhibition and local food promotion workshop titled "For a Nutritious and Healthy Nation" was held at the Kegalle Municipal Council Hall today (28) under the patronage of Member of Parliament Sagarika Athauda.

This program, jointly organized by the Department of Indigenous Medicine of the Ministry of Health, Kegalle Divisional Secretariat, Kegalle Municipal Council, Ayurveda Conservation Council and the Community Health Medical Unit, provided opportunities for a variety of features including traditional local foods, beverages and potatoes, traditional and Ayurveda medical clinics, rare Ayurveda medical equipment, medicinal plants and medicines, and the opportunity to see snakes.

In conjunction with this event, the book Sawsiri Ayurveda was also launched with the resources of the Ayurveda Conservation Council.

The occasion was attended by leaders of all religions, including the Maha Sangha Ratnaya, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) Kusum Bandara, Kegalle Divisional Secretary Attorney-at-Law Priyangani Pethangoda, a group of staff officers of the Kegalle Divisional Secretariat, Kegalle Senior Superintendent of Police, Provincial Ayurveda Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, District Community Health Director, Ayurveda doctors, Community Health Medical Officers, City Assistant Ayurveda Doctors, government officials, school students and others involved in the Ayurveda field.
