The Kegalle District Celebration was celebrated in a simple manner today (04) at the District Secretariat premises in conjunction with the 77th National Independence Day.

First, the National Flag was hoisted by the Additional District Secretary (Administration) Mrs. Kusum Bandara, followed by the playing of the National Anthem and a two-minute silence in memory of the national heroes and war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country and the nation.

The Additional District Secretary's comments on the 77th National Independence Day were then made. She requested all the staff to dedicate themselves to the upliftment of the country as public servants, marking this year's Independence Day celebration, which is celebrated under the theme "Let's march towards national revival".

Subsequently, a tree planting program and a Shramadana program were held in conjunction with the Clean Sri Lanka program, centered around the Kegalle Nidahas Mawatha premises.

Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha, along with staff officers and a group of staff from the District Secretariat, participated in this celebration.
