An initial program was held today (14) at the Kegalle Sleek Institute to inform officials of the Kegalle district regarding the employment program for disabled people, which is jointly implemented by the Department of Social Services and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The way in which the disabled community is employed, especially in developed countries and the obstacles that arise in the society of this country, the steps that can be taken to reduce the situation and the institutions that can employ the disabled community at the level of the Kegalle District Divisional Secretariat were also taken care of.

This project to employ disabled people is expected to be implemented till 2025.

Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) Charitha Illangakoon, Additional District Secretary (Lands and Development) Dinisha S. Rathnayake, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshani for this awareness workshop organized by the District Social Services Division on the instructions of Kegalle District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasuriya,  Japan International Cooperation Agency expert Simusi Takashi, Dinithi Palliawatta of the same agency, Kegalle District Social Service Officer Sarath Ranaweera, all social service officers of the district, social service officers attached to Japan International Cooperation Agency, human resource development officers and many development officers participated.
