A preliminary discussion related to the program of providing financial assistance to families with high food insecurity in the Kegalle district jointly by the World Food Program and the public sector) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasooriya, Kegalle District Governor/District Secretary, this afternoon (20).

Accordingly, the Divisional Secretariat divisions of Bulathkohupitiya and Deraniyagala have been selected for this program for the Kegalle district and it is expected to provide monthly financial aid for the food security of families who meet the criteria of 11 criteria in those divisions.

Sarvodaya Institute has also joined to support this program and it is expected to quickly confirm food safety for the risk groups identified in the district under this funding program.

For this occasion, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) Charitha Illangakoon, District Planning Director A.A.Weerakoon, District Prosperity Director Kusum Bandara, World Food Program Government Coordinating Officer Mustafa Nihman, Samantha De Mal, Project Policy Officer Thushara Keerthiratne, Program Coordinator Jananan, Mr. Priyantha Jayathilaka, District Coordinator of Sarvodaya Institute, Mr. Deraniyagala and Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretaries, Deputy Planning Directors and others participated.
