Mrs. Charitha Ilangakon, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) stated that a public service that can overcome challenges should be built for the betterment of the country in a time of crisis. Also mentioned that the policies implemented by the government should be implemented with a public-friendly approach, giving priority to ensuring food safety.

Additional District Secretary Mrs. Charitha Ilangakoon expressed these views while attending the opening ceremony of the new year 2023.

On the occasion of the commencement of duties in the new year, the duties of the district secretariat were started in the year 2023 amid the public servants' pledge given by Seth Pirith.
