Mr. JMRP Jayasinghe, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, took over as the Governor of Kegalle District this morning (01).

Mr. JMRP Jayasinghe, who received his basic degree from the University of Peradeniya in 1994, has obtained a postgraduate degree in public administration from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Japan. Also, he has a postgraduate degree in Sociology from Kelaniya University and a postgraduate degree in Business Management from Rajarata University and also obtained many diplomas under several subjects.

Mr. JMRP Jayasinghe, who joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 1998, as Assistant Divisional Secretary (Palagala), Divisional Secretary (Palugaswewa), Regional Director of Community Water Supply and Sanitation Project (Anuradhapura), Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, North West Province, Kurunegala. Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Council, Provincial Director of Small Industries Department (North West), Provincial Land Commissioner (North West), Commissioner of Local Government (North West), Additional Director General of Fiscal Policy, Secretary to North Central Provincial Ministry of Agriculture and North Central Provincial Ministry of Irrigation. He is a senior officer with experience in administrative services holding many positions.
