Aiming to strengthen the economy of the country as well as the district through diversification of exports, an awareness program on export-oriented aquatic plant cultivation, connecting an exporter and a supply promotion program was held today (02) in the morning at the district secretariat office auditorium.

This awareness is another program of the follow-up process of the professional training workshop held in conjunction with the Kegalu Abhiman Home and Foreign Job Center held last July 08, for a group of growers selected with the contribution of Mr. V. Samantha, who is currently successfully exporting aquatic plants in the island conducted as practical workshop.

Mrs. Kaushalya Jayawardena, Export Development Officer of Sri Lanka Export Development Board's Kegalle District Secretariat, organized the meeting with the aim of promoting the export process and supplies by raising awareness about aquatic plant cultivation.

District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Gamalatge Dilip Nishantha, Export Development Officers from Dehiovita, Ruwanwella, Deraniyagala, Kegalle, Mawanella, Aranayaka Divisional Secretariats Offices were present on this occasion.
