A meeting was held yesterday (26) at the district secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe, the district secretary/district governor, with the participation of the representatives of the sports associations in the Kegalle district.

Accordingly, the representatives of the existing sports associations in the district were called and looked into the problems that have affected them and the need for sports fields, especially the need for an indoor sports field, the lack of sports equipment and the high cost involved, etc. were included. Joining this occasion, the district secretary said that he will try to do it.

Under the joint approach program for the development of sports, a number of areas such as identifying new talents in sports, popularizing sports, identifying national priority areas, implementing a sports tournament plan aimed at international achievements and starting sports squads at the provincial, district and regional levels have been expected to achived.

The program was organized by the District Sports Department.
