A training program to develop the capacity of government officials related to the use of information and communication technology in the implementation of career guidance programs was held today (04) at the district secretariat auditorium.

In all the schools of the district, officers were informed about the new trends in information technology related to the employment and vocational training sector with the aim of improving the professional skills of the students who are studying from the ninth year to G.E.C. (A/L) students Officers were informed.

Chandika Yahampati, Senior Manager of Sri Lanka Institute of Information and Communication Technology and Mr. Migara Ilangaratne and Thilanka Bandara joined the event as resource persons.

The District Employment Promotion Division had organized this program.

Additional District Secretary (Lands) Gamalatge Dilip Nishantha, District Human Resource Officer Gamini Herath, Human Resource Officers of District and Divisional Secretariats, officials of government institutions providing career guidance were present on this occasion.
