The restraint, harmony and education of the people is demonstrated through the correct use of language in recognizing the diversity of Sri Lankans such as ethnicity, religion, culture and language. Recognizing the vitality of languages is a modern need to understand the importance of English as an international language.

To that end, an open dialogue regarding the importance of national languages and modern languages was held today (17) in the morning at the district secretariat auditorium as another program implemented by the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government in relation to the implementation of the official language policy.

According to that, the relationship between language, language and society, legal provisions related to official language policy, administrative structure was explained here by the Deputy Director of the Central Provincial Assembly Mr. Lalith Dasanayake. Also, the opinions and suggestions of the scholars who were present were actively examined here.

District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Gamalatge Dilip Nishantha, District Planning Director A.A. Weerakoon, Divisional Secretaries, Government officials, representatives of civil organizations, university students and school students were present on that occasion.
