A two-day leadership training program related to empowering women to enter politics was held on the 31st and 01st at the district secretariat auditorium.

In this program, the development of leadership skills and attitudes, related practical activities, the importance of women entering politics and the current problems in politics were shared.

Senior Youth Service Officer Upul Bandusinghe, Executive Director of Democratic Election Studies Institute Manjula Gajanayake, Assistant Director of Sitawaka Archeology Viraj Balasuriya (Sabaragamu Province) were present as resource persons for the two-day training program.

This program was organized by the District Women's Development Officer Mrs. Manori Dehimaduwa.

Ms. Yamini Rathnayake, Administrative Officer, officers of 11 women's councils, women's development officers working in the district and divisional secretariats, women's development field assistant officers, regional women's committee members were present on that occasion.
