According to the concept of the Ministry of Industry, the District Industry Committees are currently being established targeting all the twenty-five districts at the island-wide level. Simultaneously, the Kegalle District Industry Committee was established today (29) in the morning under the chairmanship of District Secretary / District Governor Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe.
Accordingly, in this meeting held with the participation of the small and medium industrialists of the district, the District Secretary and the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Director of the Industrial Development Board were appointed as advisers of the Industrial Development Committee and three of the entrepreneurs were also elected to the said committee.
The Assistant Director of the Industrial Development Board was officially appointed as the Chairman of the Committee and a group of industrialists were selected for the posts of Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Audit Controller. Committee members were also elected by resolution to cover all industrial sectors.
Accordingly, industrial development committees will be established at the local, district and national levels to obtain the necessary facilities for the promotion of enterprises including modern technology, business management, market opportunities and solutions for emerging problems.
In conjunction with this event, the Ministry of Industry is issuing an identity card to an enterprise and symbolizing this, three entrepreneurs were given the identity cards by the hands of the District Secretary.

Thilakasiri, Assistant Director Small Business Development Division Trinsi Manoj Mr. S.A.G. Senanayake, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Director of the Industrial Development Board, District Development, Export Development, Enterprise Development, Productivity Development Officers, small and medium industrialists were present.
