The Ministry of National Language and Local Government of the Ministry of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government and the National Language Section of the Kegalle District Secretariat implemented the official language week from 07.01 - 07.05 with the theme of Link - Let's be aware, let's act. Along with that, many programs were implemented.

Under that, a program was organized to inform the government officials about the official language policy in the morning today (09). They were informed about many issues including official languages ​​and rights, the importance of the official language policy to create a satisfactory public service, development of positive attitudes, evolution of the official language policy so far, coexistence and measures that can be taken when language rights are violated. It was given by Mr. Lalith Dasanayake, Deputy Director (Programming) of the Provincial Chief Secretariat.

In conjunction with this event, as per the instructions of the District Secretary, a design competition was held on the 3rd of July in conjunction with the official language week, school days and youth days. Prizes and certificates of merit were distributed to the winners under the chairmanship of District Secretary/District Governor Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe.

And to spice up the occasion, a group of officials from the Kegalle Divisional Secretariat and the District Secretariat presented some aesthetic elements on the theme of language and harmony.

This program was organized by the National Integration District Promotion Officer, Ms. Indika Wirawardena, including the department.
