A training program for the family members of migrant workers was held today (21 October 2024) at the auditorium of the Kegalle District Secretariat under the patronage of its Additional District Secretary, Mr. Dilip Nishantha, to provide them with a better standard of living and psychosocial support.

This program was held as a training to introduce and raise awareness of the measures taken to address the psychological and social needs of families and community groups of individuals seeking help under any circumstances, such as identifying the problems faced by the migrant community and the psychosocial health of their family members, managing the economy for a satisfying family life, etc.

This program was held for a selected number of families representing two families of the migrant worker community from each of the 11 Divisional Secretariat Divisions of the Kegalle District. This program, which was coordinated by the Foreign Employment District Coordinator of the Kegalle District Secretariat, Mr. Harindra Udamulla, was supported by the Training of Trainers Officer, Foreign Employment Division, Mr. Lanka Sumanadasa, Development Officer, Mr. Thanuja Wijayathilaka (Foreign Employment), and Mr. Tanuja Wijayathilaka (Foreign Employment). All the officers of the Foreign Employment Division of the Kegalle District Secretariat participated in this event.
