District Planning Director A.A. Weerakoon stated that more than 6000 projects worth over 2500 million were successfully completed in the Kegalle District in 2024. He stated this at a meeting held at the District Secretariat Auditorium today (21) to review the progress of development programs implemented in the Kegalle District this year.

Many projects including Prosperity Production Villages, Mountain Decade, Decentralized Programs, Special Projects implemented by the Presidential Secretariat, Estate Infrastructure Development Programs, Rural Road Programs, etc. were implemented in the district this year. Accordingly, the progress of the development projects carried out at the district and divisional secretariat levels was reviewed and issues and suggestions to be considered in implementing the projects for the coming year were also presented.

Despite being a year full of challenges, it is noteworthy that the progress of the overall development projects was brought to 95% and all payments for it were completed. The officers of the planning divisions of the district and divisional secretariats who were dedicated to this were also evaluated in conjunction with this meeting.

The meeting organized by the district planning division was attended by the District Secretary/Government Agent Ranjana Jayasinghe, Deputy and Assistant Planning Directors of the Planning Division of the District Secretariat, Planning Directors of the Divisional Secretariats, and Development Officers of the Planning Divisions.
