The racial crisis that has been in our country for more than half a century of a thirty year war is now gradually dreaming. Racism used by politics in the north and south for the opportunity political movement, racism after the flames of war ended, the root seed of all these issues were able to find the root seed long after that. In a country that uses two main languages, the mutual understanding and harmony were not able to develop the lack of understanding between Sinhala and Tamil languages. Language is the only tool that can be used to create mutual understanding among nations. It's irritating to think that this harmony develops just because the language exists. So in order to create harmony, coexistence, communication errors between languages must be removed. If the communication between languages is measured, it is easier for nations to create understanding among nations.
The non-state coordination committee meeting for the third quarter was held today (12) at the District Secretariat Auditorium with the aim of reviewing the progress of the operation of non-state organizations in the district and the proposed activities relevant to 2025.
There today's "story of the day" was presented by District Early Childhood Development Officer Mrs. Sudarika Chandrasiri.
Programs will be held targeting various themes for the wellbeing and welfare of the elderly, targeting five on the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of this month on the grants of the National Adult General Secretariat. The first program today covering five divisions of the district for adults. For the elders in daycare centres was held by the Additional District Secretary (Government) Mrs. Kusum Bandara.
The first session held today was booked for awareness about dementia disease and Mrs. Suranjalika Gunathilaka on mental illness at Kegalle General Hospital. The second session was conducted by Mr. Viraj Abesinghe, Senior Career Guidance Consultant Officer of Kelaniya University aiming at the theme of promoting positive attitude development in adulthood. The final session was booked for the exercises of sobriety and restraint and the resource contribution was given by District Senior Psychological Counseling Officer Mrs. Renuka Jayaratne.
The series is organized by the District Adult Division including the District Adult Promotion Officer Mrs. Dilani Kumari.
A group of adult promotion officers from local secretariat and elders from daycare centers gathered together for the event.
The main objectives of this program are to promote language skills, identify cultural values, ensure harmony and mutual trust among nations

Madushani De Silva, the regional secretary of the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat, who commented on the implementation of this program to increase cultural integration through language and strengthen mutual understanding among people groups in the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat, said the program of the Kegalla District Secretariat, Deraniyagala. Creating additional income sources for surrounding communities through increasing fisheries capability with building reservoir especially among the objectives and benefits of this project, contributing to reduce carbondioxide emissions through hydropower generation, creating job returns during construction period, increasing water levels around the reservoir A range of facts including surrounding natural ecosystems, domestic activities, and positive impacts on rural areas supplied on undergroundwater for consumption cultivation.
Although the grants are not yet allocated for this project, land acquisition and rehabilitation, the views and questions of all parties regarding the project implementation.
Also expected to develop Mawanella city as the main city and Hemmatagama city as sub city as proposed. Under that, we, who have taken recommendations on water disposal management techniques, aimed at formalizing the city's waste disposal, provided opportunities here to gather forward steps for the land development corporation to provide recommendations on water disposal management techniques.

The Transport and Highway Coordination Committee met today (04) at the District Secretariat under the leadership of Mr. Nandana Millagala, the aim of discussing issues related to transport and highway subjects in Kegalle district.
Accordingly, steps have been taken to expand the parallel road from Binge to Rambukkana to Rambukkana as a solution to the problem of binge being small under the railway road on the Rambukkana Mawanella road and connect the new binge to the construction of Rambukkana Mawanella road. An Ayurvedic medical clinic was held today (10) at the District Secretariat Office in the presence of the staff of Kegalla Ayurveda Primary Hospital organized by the Shramabhimani Circle with the aim of promoting physical and mental health of the District Secretariat Officers.

The District Agriculture, Environment and Land Use Committee relevant for this month met today (09) at the District Secretariat under the leadership of District Secretary/Director Mr. Jagat Herath.
The goal of wee cultivation for this year's yellow season is a nine thousand busals, and the goal is to increase the crops to 4.5 per hectare by providing certified eggs through fifty-four model cultivations in the district, testing five samples, performing seed treatment services etc. and increasing the crops to 4.5 per hectare. Twenty acres of vegetable cultivation for exports of Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat is currently in effect and programs are being implemented aiming to increase those acres. Also, the project is successfully implemented for twenty Nymiris growers under the Semawul project centered around Bulathkohupitiya and the Simple Model Village Program operated by the Department of Agricultural Development - 14 new greenhouses under 2025.
The Department of Export Agriculture is receiving a grants of 74 million this year and all the plants offered free from the first of August and also providing the investment aid needed for plant cultivation. Also nearly seventy thousand new plants for gardening have been delivered right now. Also under the same department, there is a program to provide investment assistance for microwater supply programs as well as electric fences and net fences. A special programme of training and assistance especially for export centered entrepreneurs is currently implemented through separate grants and the department also requested here to refer entrepreneurs at divisional level.
Relevant this year's new cultivation target of the Rubber Development Department is 25 hectares and the repeat target is 95 hectares. 24.9 hectares subsidies are being provided for the interval of rubber cultivation. Establishment of a "biochar" unit name aimed at enableing the soil status is currently in effect.
The target of growing tea in Kegalle district is eleven hectares in connection with this year, and the target has been achieved till now, says the authority.
This year's National Fertilizer Day celebration will be held on 13th October at Kegalle Municipality Hall, along with that a fertilizer exhibition has been organized, and there will be the need to work to engage students involved in agriculture as well as farmers.

Clean Sri Lanka National Programme to maintain organization within state institutions, Sairi Week is implemented from today. According to this morning. At 8:30 a.m. a special meeting with the presence of all the officers of the District Secretariat was informed about the implementation of Serie Week. Seri Week will be implemented from 01 - 04 September targeting various profiles at government offices. It has already been proposed to implement a waste management project in Kegalle District in line with the Clean Sri Lanka National Program. Also, in response to the request made by Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha Mahatma to submit new proposals as a committee, the following proposals were submitted to the Environment Committee.
Establishing a new parking lot and waste disposal system for the city, taking steps to prevent traffic congestion in the city due to the use of vehicles to park on the other two lanes, although there are 04 lanes in the city, and erecting an iron fence in the middle of the road where flower pots are currently placed, so that pedestrians can cross from all sides.
The inaugural meeting to implement the District-level Agricultural Development Committees under the "Eka Mitata Govi Bimata" National Food Crop Production Promotion Program was held at the District Secretariat today (12) afternoon under the patronage of Member of Parliament Kanchana Welipitiya and Kegalle District Secretary Jagath Herath.
This committee, which is chaired by the District Director of Agriculture and has the Deputy Commissioner of Agrarian Development as its secretary, is being advised by the representative appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Resources, Lands and Irrigation, Mr. Kanchana Walapitiya, Member of Parliament for Kegalle.
This committee is scheduled to review the progress of all proposed and implemented agricultural development programs in the district, identify problems and solutions, and submit a formal report to the District Agriculture Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture's One-to-One Agricultural Development Committee.

MP Kanchana Walapitiya pointed out the need to provide practical solutions to the problems that arose today at the next committee meeting, and the Kegalle District Secretary said that steps should be taken to ensure good coordination between the officials of all institutions related to agriculture and the farmers.

A youth awareness program organized by the District Secretariat's Adult Division with the funding of the National Elders Secretariat was held today (12) at the Kegalle National Youth Corps Training Center under the theme "Youthful Eyes - Adulthood".
The elderly population in Sri Lanka is growing rapidly and educating the youth is an extremely important task for that community to spend their senior years in a healthy and happy manner. This awareness program was held for the young children studying at the Kegalle National Youth Corps to meet that need.
Three scholarly lectures were held under this program and the first lecture was given on the theme "Safe Adulthood - Planned Future Investment" by Productivity Development Officer and veteran journalist Saman Bandara. Afterwards, retired Ayurvedic Medical Officer Mangalik Ekanayake gave a speech on "Elderly, Adulthood and Preparation for Healthy Adulthood".
